das kolorit
Das Kolorit is a chamber music ensemble on historical instruments based in Switzerland and Germany. The ensemble's sound identity is characterized by a constant, common sound exploration that transcends the individual virtuosity of its members. Founded in 2021, Das Kolorit experiments with new concert formats, creates children's performances and combines various art forms in its projects. All of its concerts are conceived as stage performances, with the aim of offering the listener new perspectives on a repertoire spanning from the 16th to the 21st century. The ensemble often collaborates with composers and has given world premieres of works written expressly for them.
Das Kolorit's concert activity extends to different countries in Europe, having performed, among others, at Heidelberger Frühling, Merano Music Festival and Schlosskonzerte Kirchberg an der Jagst. They were selected as resident ensemble of Schloss Rheinsberg, thanks to whichh they performed regularly at the castle as “Rheinsberger Hofkapelle” during the season 2023/2024. Das Kolorit was recently supported by the Deutsche Orchester-Stiftung through the #MusikerZukunft program to realize the audiovisual installation “Il tempo perduto”. The main ensemble, composed of Sophia Schambeck (recorder), Leon Serafin Jänicke (theorbo and baroque guitar), Mariona Mateu Carles (violone in G) and Rosalía Gomez Lasheras (harpsichord), is expanded in each project with other instrumentalists, actors and/or artists from other disciplines.

Sophia Schambeck
For recorder player Sophia Schambeck, it is essential to connect with her audience through music. Specializing equally in con-temporary and early music, she gives concerts at home and abroad. Always looking for new ways to connect with her listeners, she experiments with concert formats, electronics and improvisation. Sophia is a laureate of international competitions and received the Leonhard and Ida Wolf Memorial Prize of the City of Munich in 2021.

Leon Jänicke
Leon Serafin Jänicke (2000) studied lute instruments with Rolf Lislevand. He works with several artists and ensembles playing mostly baroque music on theorbo, archlute and baroque guitar (Das Kolorit, Q Ensemble Berlin, Collegium 1704, Musiktheater Goldstaub, Poesia Vocale Bern). He took part in a CD recording with „Teatro dei Cervelli“ in Italy and develops some own projects focusing on crossover, such as a lute&electro duo with sound artist Luis Miehlich.

Rosalía Gómez Lasheras
Born in 1994, Rosalía studied piano, fortepiano and harpsichord at the Utrecht Conservatorium and the Musik Akademie Basel. After winning the YPF Competition in Amsterdam (2013) she debuted as a soloist in halls like Concert-gebouw Amsterdam, Palau de la Música Catalana, Cairo Opera House, Konzerthaus Dortmund and Herkulessaal Munich. She's currently an Assistant Professor of Chamber Music at the Hochschule für Musik Basel.

Mariona Mateu Carles
Mariona won as a chamber music player competitions like the Inter-national Händel Competition or the First Prize from the Polytechnische Gesellschaft Frankfurt. At the moment she collaborates with Frei-burger Barockorchester, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Le Concert des Nations and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie and she is Solobass at the Basel Sinfonietta.
